In 1958, James L. Appleby, a private investigator, founded Appleby and Company as a Private Investigation firm. He was the sole employee. It was his desire, at the time, to provide quality investigations at a reasonable price. The goal was service delivered with honesty and value. Plain and simple.
By 1965, Appleby and Company had expanded exponentially in size with several more employees and a larger coverage area moving out of the Central Valley to throughout California. It was at this point that Jim saw an unfilled niche service opportunity in the Insurance Claims industry and he created what is now known as the Records Reproduction and Attorney Services department. Another step forward to service our clients, simplifying their world. Steven J. Appleby, the current President and CEO joined the team in 1982 and brought the company forward introducing the latest Computer, Video and scanning technologies to make the process more efficient, simplifying delivery of product and services to our clients.
Steve also formed the Document Management Department in 1987, the goal of which was to offer scanning services, software and hardware to other businesses and governmental entities to increase their workplace efficiency. Another example of simplifying their world.
As time went on, more members of the Appleby family joined the company. Their aim is to insure a continuing process of providing innovations and thoughtful solutions to our current and future customer base.
Over the last 60 years, the goal of Appleby and Company has been to continually strive to bring quality products and services to our customers. We look forward to the next 60 years.
